Glue for Nylon Fabric Buying Guide
Nylon is a special fabric that often requires specially formulated adhesives or very strong, industrial super glues to be able to bond it together or to other fabrics. Sometimes, a hot glue gun could be used or an epoxy adhesive, but it would depend largely on the application as to what kind of glue is being used. Glue for crafting with nylon fabrics versus adhesives for doing repairs to nylon fabrics or glues for nylon fabrics that are going to have to stand up to weather and wear and tear, are all going to be different.
Extreme Durability
While some of the glues that work best with nylon fabrics might seem a little bit pricey at first glance for just a small bottle, the glue often goes a long way. Generally, with many industrial strength super glues, a drop or two will do a surprisingly sufficient job. Other glues might be pricey and require a large amount of the adhesive to be used, or roll of tape, but when compared with the cost of replacing a good quality item like a tent or a big blow up toy, or expensive outdoor gear, the cost of the glue doesn’t seem so bad in comparison. These glues are often extremely strong and will stand the test of time, which helps prolong the life of the item being repaired.
Versatile Adhesives
Many of the glues and adhesives that work well with nylon fabrics can be used with many other fabrics and on many other surfaces. Not only does this eliminate the need to purchase other glues for other projects, it can be really helpful to have a versatile glue if you are trying to adhere nylon to a wide variety of different surfaces, not just to other nylon objects or to fabrics. These glues are generally very durable, and are often weatherproof and waterproof. They generally are designed to stay flexible and not crack over time, which makes them able to be used on a wide variety of nylon products.
